Advent (the name we give to the four weeks leading up to Christmas) is a time in which we set aside many of the routines that have filled the year behind us... to make space in our thoughts for God to move, for the reality of Christ (the actual, mind bending, beautiful oddity of God, the Creator coming here, right now) to reshape us. The margin of Advent also provides time to care for the needs of others.

Advent Candle Lighting & Readings

Every Sunday during Worship service we light an Advent candle with a scripture reading. Click below to join our CPC families and watch (or re-watch) the Advent readings. (Updated weekly)

Advent Devotionals

On your own time, we encourage you to walk through our Advent Devotional. Copies are available at CPC, or download here. Every Monday, a friendly reminder email will be sent to all e-letter subscribers with a brief overview of the week's scripture reading plan. If you do not yet subscribe to our e-letter, click here.

Advent for Kids

This year CPC is gifting every child The Jesus Storybook Bible. We invite children of all ages to come build an Advent Reading calendar tree that follows along with the book.

Come enjoy one of CPC's Christmas traditions. Materials are provided for families to create their own Advent wreath to take home. (Bring your old wreath rings to re-use if you have them)

Photo Station

Come take family photos with a CPC Christmas backdrop and fun props. The photo area will be up all month long for you to enjoy.

White Grass

Each Christmas season, CPC contributes to the special needs of one of our mission partners. This year we turn our attention to the work of the Haymarket Regional Food Pantry (HRFP). Located in Gainesville, HRFP provides food and essentials for our neighbors in Prince William and Fauquier counties. Food insecurity remains a critical issue in our community. The volunteers at HRFP strive to meet the food insecurity needs of hundreds of families every week.

Click links below to learn more about our mission partner and this year's Christmas Offering.

To join in our efforts, you can contribute online and select “Christmas offering" in the Funds drop-down menu, or give a check with “HRFP” in the memo line.

Additionally, in our Lobby, through December 15th, the Christmas Giving Tree is filled with gift request "ornaments" for local children, homeless women, and vulnerable families. Please join us to bring hope and joy into our local community.
